Hi Skaters,
I hope you’re all doing well despite the recent news. As you may already know, starting on February 17th, Liverpool City Council will be enforcing ‘Match Day Parking Restrictions’ from 8 AM to midnight every day around the new Everton stadium. These restrictions, for match days and events, will also be in place on non-match days, which will have a negative impact on local businesses, artists, and the skate community.
For many of you, the Rollerdrome is more than just a roller rink—it’s a community space filled with vibrant individuals and friends who have become like family. It’s a place where people, who might not have connected otherwise, come together through their shared love of skating. For those who also aren’t familiar, our home at The Windy is also a hub for numerous artist studios, many of these are small, independent businesses that will be affected by these new regulations, along with our incredible team members at IWF.
We aim to collaborate with local businesses and Everton to find a way for all businesses to thrive alongside the new football hub. We truly appreciate your continued support and hope to find a resolution soon. If you haven’t already, below you’ll find information on how you can help us all continue doing what we love.
